Last summer, disability activist Alice Wong joined us to discuss the anthology Disability Visibility: First-Person Stories from the Twenty-First Century.
Our selections tend to be recent books (published within ~16-24 months) that hopefully haven’t already been read by majority of members (a total gamble) and are written by a Black author or author of color.
The books’ narratives reflect us: everyday, working adults with aspirations, flaws, and complex, explorative relationships with family, systems, the world, and ones self.
