Mighty Real returns!

ItsQwere's annual reminder to be flamboyantly "Mighty Real"

ItsQwere started as safe conversation spaces for queer Black and Brown folks to discuss life as we experience it. To contrast and celebrate those vulnerable conversations, in November 2018, we wore our most glittering ensembles to gather for an intimate concert in West Hollywood.

We called the event Mighty Real to honor legendary disco icon Sylvester and his timeless dance hit, “Mighty Real.” The song evokes an uptempo energy that transcends the dance floor, becoming an attitude.  It’s the essence of this track that imbues our annual event. ItsQwere’s Mighty Real is as audacious, flamboyant, and free as Sylvester himself.

Join us virtually on Sunday, November 7 at 12 p.m. PST for ItsQwere’s Mighty Real: Black Voices in Conversation, celebrating writers who expand social narratives through storytelling. Proceeds benefit Oakland LGBTQ Center, a uniquely all-inclusive community center. Tickets available at here.
