If you posted a black Instagram square last June, this book selection's for you.

Our September book club will discuss So You Want To Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo, meeting September 14 and September 27 at 7 p.m. Pacific on Zoom.

Sept 14 – Chapters 1 - 7 (Add to calendar)
Sept 27 – Chapters 8 - 17 (Add to calendar)

Last month on the socials, Ijeoma Oluo went viral after bringing it to her followers' attention that the popular Instagram page "So You Want To Talk About" (now "SoInformed" 🙄) had been stealing work verbatim from her book of the same name. Wait, the SYWTTA Instagram page is not affiliated with the SYWTTAR book? 🤔 🧐 Shady.

After noticing 80+ Instagram mutuals were also following Becky w the stolen text, I figured the next book club selection was made clear.

It's perfect fodder for a subject we all experience anyway. Let's dig in, loves. ❤️‍🔥

Our Book Club began in February 2021 with three friends who each happened to have an unread copy of Between The World And Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates. We invited more friends to join in reading the book, then met virtually to discuss our reactions. Since then, the Book Club has met bi-monthly, reading works by Black authors, writers of color, and writers with disabilities.
