On Friday, May 31 in West Hollywood, at the intersection of music, film and industry is QueerX, a weekend-long festival fostering queer connection and empowerment hosted by queer streaming network Revry.
The festival offers dynamic industry panels, the Revry Visibility Awards and closing night party, and the LA’s premiere screening of the YouTube Original State of Pride.
An anticipated panel, “The Business of Inclusive Storytelling,” will feature Ben Cary Jones of BET’s Boomerang with Deniese Davis (HBO’s Insecure) and Ryan O’Connell of Netflix’s Special.

YouTube Original State of Pride is the Saturday night highlight. Directed by two-time Academy Award winners Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman (The Times of Harvey Milk, The Celluloid Closet), State of Pride opened at this year’s SXSW.
According to a QueerX press release, “State of Pride takes an unflinching look at the significance, controversy, and meaning of Pride for young people 50 years after the Stonewall Riots.”
Revry Visibility Awards preclude the closing Sunday night party hosted by the Tourist Office of Spain honoring 23-year-old YouTuber and make-up artist Nikita Dragun, a trans woman who made her transition public through social media.
“This is an incredibly monumental year for me,” said Nikita via the QueerX press release. “I launched my company Dragun Beauty, becoming the first Trans owned brand for Trans people and all people. I’ve pushed representation by living visibly and unapologetically. Live your fantasy.”
QueerX weekend also hosts Revry Summer Preview, including Laura Linney’s world premiere of Sink Sank Sunk. Also anticipated is GLAAD “Rising Star Grant” recipient River Gallo’s PonyBoi, created by and starring the first out intersex person in the history of cinema.
Originally founded as Out Web Fest in 2016, QueerX is a one-of-a-kind festival created by and for the global queer community. Grab your tickets at queerx.com.
