A virtual brunch doesn't taste so good

By now we’ve all heard about California’s shelter-in-place order, which makes hosting a brainstorm brunch in Oakland quite challenging with consideration of social distancing.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but the past few weeks of working remotely has really pushed me to the limits of socializing through video chat, which is why rather than move today’s event to a digital platform, I’ve decided to postpone until the advisory is lifted.

During this unprecedented time, I hope you’re finding ways to take care of yourself without the pressure of re-creating yourself. With all of our newfound “free time” comes this expectation that we will all emerge from lockdown being the next Julia Child or a yoga master.

Self-care is most effective when you just listen to your body. Take longer naps. Repaint your nails. Call your favorite cousin. Bake a cake. Write an old-fashioned letter to your bestie. Do what makes your spirit feel rich.

I’m looking forward to summer when we can be physically together again (fingers crossed!) and just … hug.

Cheers,
Tony
